Mr Steven Odongo Opio joined FMBcapital Holdings in August 2020. He is a seasoned banker with over 12 years’ experience in end-to-end client management (individual & portfolio) including risk management and a track record of successfully leading both Front and Backend teams in the delivery of operational and strategic objectives. Prior to joining the Group he served as Executive Director/Corporate Director for Absa Bank Uganda (formerly Barclays) from 2015 to 2020. He also held the role of Chief Risk Officer (Risk Director) in Barclays Bank Uganda and Associate Credit Director with Barclays Africa Group in London, UK, where he was part of the credit sanctioning team covering the Barclays Africa businesses. He is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Hautes Etudes Commerciales – HEC School of Management (Paris, France) with a Bachelor of Statistics (Honours) from Makerere University (Kampala, Uganda) and is a Certified PRINCE2 Project Methodology Practitioner. He is currently a Level 3 Candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.
